go.tagjag.com – Being the gadget-lover that I am, I have been on the cookout for the Geekiest rice cooker out there! I finally found it, and I love it! It’s the Zojirushi Micom 3-Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer. I bought it in the stainless steel finish, to match the other appliances in my kitchen. “There is nothing just as good as rice from a rice cooker. My 13 year old Zojirushi still makes perfect rice to this day”
Nice. We have a 27 year old Zojirushi which was purchased at an Aafes in Okinawa; it was converted to 120 VAC from its original 100 VAC configuration.
Still cooks great rice.
Zojirushi: when a cheap piece of crap rice cooker from Wal-Mart or Target just won’t do (and they usually never do).
If you like eating steamed rice, even if it’s not an Asian recipe you’re cooking, use a good rice cooker which will most likely be from a Japanese brand.
Of course, Zojirushi has competition: Tiger and Panasonic (and, yes, Sanyo, which is technically Panasonic now).

Thats a 5.5 cup rice cooker.
My Zojirushi does that too.. Its an older model, but it has all of those features except for the fact that it’s stainless steel =D….. I’m Asian… Therefore I know these things XD
Thats not the right setting for 2 cups of rice the water level shows 3 cups of rice are being cooked. You use the special rice cup NOT the bowl as the measure and the bowl marks the water line to how many cups of rice. also this rice cooker is the higher model than the linked rice cooker the is unit is approx $250 . These rice cookers are AWESOME by the way.
Pretty nice
I got one of the Aroma units that steams and boils pasta in addition to cooking white/brown rice w/ warm setting.
0:26 ah, the randomness.
LOL twinkle twinkle little star! 0:45
The next step tells the you when your rice is ready and the world what setting your cooking you rice.
When he said geekiest I thought it would have some twitter implementation or could serve as a wireless access point etc. Guess I was wrong (which is also a good thing in this case).
lol honestly the sound made the rice cooker sound cheesy haha im not a big fan of it, maybe a simple long beep would be better but thats one good rice cooker
I also have this rice cooker… it’s great! I do not miss my days of cooking rice on the stove top!
I have the same cooker as well as my daughter and sister. We all love it! You should take that sticker off of the front that says “Induction Cooker”! I totally disagree with Radioactive Chicken….an entire dinner can be made in this little device, with practically no kitchen clean up. “The Ultimate Rice Cooker Cookbook” should be had by all who own a rice cooker! I know what “Chicken” means by useless appliances, …but this is not one of them. The sound is helpful when rice is done!!
People are so freaked out by cooking these days that we think we need gadgets for the simplest tasks.
These things just blind you with options and make you feel like you couldn’t actually cook stuff the “proper” way ..and I’m really lazy when it comes to cooking believe me but these appliances just annoy me.
You can cook any rice (not just the 1 minute stuff) in the microwave. Or even on the hob you just add one cup of rice, two cups of boiling water and leave it alone to simmer for fifteen minutes.
Simple and cheaper.
I like my gadgets but I don’t like kitchen clutter and rice cookers and bread makers come under the heading clutter IMO.
That cooker sounded really tatty when it made that sound. Before the sound, it looked pretty decent. Now all I can do is look at it with chinese mass-produced disgust!
this is not the $125, if you closely look at his link its the cheaper version of the rice cooker (his has 8 buttons while the one linked has 7). this one he’s showing is priced $499 at amazon canada. quite expensive.
hey, i got a tip for you, marry a chinese girl as your wife and then you can have chinese meals everyday, you do the rice and she does the rest lol
wow u r a geek cook jk
that is one good looking cooker
it’s not asian then? – -
@yourcrapsweak He was given it, if not payed to review it.
you spent 125 dollars on this shit?
I have that same one too!
Same tune selection also
wow! i want one XD
